We are F-16 Instructors, AC-130 Instructors, AC-130 Technicians, we are the Aircraft Mechanics that maintain the Aircraft that Defend our Borders, we are Simulator Technicians on the F-16, the Longbow and Apache Helicopters, we are Missile Manufacturers, we are Tradesmen, we are Toolmakers, we are Technicians on some of the Most Sophisticated Military Equipment in the World. We are the UNION that provides JUSTICE ON THE JOB and SERVICE TO OUR COMMUNITY.

Community Food Bank Volunteers Needed

Saturday June 7, 2008 from 8:30 am to 12 pm

Brothers and Sisters,
We are looking for at least 20 or so volunteers to assist packing food boxes at the Community Food Bank this Saturday June 7, 2008 from 8:30 am to 12 pm. This is a great opportunity to show our appreciation to the Food Bank which helped so many of our members during our strike. Please contact the hall at 294-7696 to volunteer.

Roofing Volunteers?

Brothers and Sisters,

The union hall roof is in sore need of repairs. Last time it rained, it
leaked into some files. This is a call for volunteers for anyone who has some experience with rolled roofing. If we get enough volunteers, we could assign only two-hour shifts each. Anyone that can help please call the hall at 294-7696 leave a message with contact information for Eduardo Quintana.

Union Reaches Agreement With Raytheon on GWI Issue

June 4th, 2008

2007 general wage increase amounts and base rate minimums were not clarified durring the 2006 Labor Negotiations. IAMAW Local Lodge 933 and Raytheon have agreed to resolve this outstanding issue.

As a result of this agreement, fifty (50) Raytheon Bargaining Unit employees (Union and Non Union) will divide an estimated settlement of more than $70,000.

The Union looks forward to resolving other outstanding issues and will seek to pursue common goals , such as the Voluntary Protection Program and other safety initiatives with Raytheon while continuing to build the best products in the defense industry.

Turn Around America

The AFL-CIO today launched the “Turn Around America” video competition — its first-ever online video contest — and will feature the winners in television ads in part to engage voters and 2008 political candidates in a national dialogue about what is necessary to get America back on track.

Thursday, May 1, 2008, at 8:00 A.M.

The march will start at the Southgate Shopping Center (I-10 and 6th Avenue)
And proceed north on Sixth Avenue to Armory Park (220 South 5th Avenue) for a rally with speeches and music.

Golf Tournament A Success for the Community

The 1st Annual Golf Tournament held April 19th successfully raised over $1100 dollars for the Community Food Bank.

Golf Tournament Saturday, April 19th

The golf tournament is coming together very well. We have between 40 and 50 players signed up. We need volunteer’s to help facilitate the tournament. IAMAW Local 933 Golf Tournament

March 10th, 2008

Where: Santa Rita Country Club (16461 S. Houghton Rd.)

When: Saturday, April 19th 7:30 Shotgun Start (Check in by 7:15)

What: 4 Person Scramble.(2 drives per player)

Sponsorship proceeds will be donated to the Community Food Bank.
Entry fee: Single $60.00 Foursome $200.00
Mulligan’s: 2 for $10.00.
Entry fee will include 18 hole round of golf and lunch at the American Legion Post #109 located at 15921 S. Houghton Rd.
Prizes will be given for: longest drive, closest to the pin, lowest score.
Lunch includes: Cheeseburger, Beans, Chips
Each player will receive a raffle ticket for prize giveaways after the tournament.
